I grew up in rural Quebec, then lived in Kirkland Lake for 23 years. More recently I have relocated to the Ottawa Valley with my husband. I have 3 grown children and 2 wonderful grandchildren close by. I have a medical background but have created art since my early university days. Currently I am a full time artist.
I have worked in multiple mediums. These have included art glass, acrylic, watercolour and fibre. I dye my fabric. I paint on paper, canvas and fabric.I include stitching in much of my work.I believe that working in multiple mediums suits my artistic voice. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
My inspirations are largely nature inspired;a scene, a photograph, the beauty of a reflection, fading light and sometimes a piece of fabric.
Frequently my work comes from an internal emotional place and is more non-representational .
I love to make beautiful art . The use of colour and drama are important. I strive to create work that creates mood and evokes an emotional response in the viewer.
